What Wendy Wore: Valentine’s Day 2019

I was mildly disappointed with myself last night for being sartorially lazy on Valentine's Day. You know I love theme dressing, yet I didn't wear my vintage Moschino heart dress ...

... or my vintage Gemma Kahng heart vest.

But I decided to forgive myself for not dressing to code because I did have an Indivisible Upper East Side meeting to lead before my 10 p.m. dinner with MrB. Our Indivisible chapter has our meeting space booked for the second Thursday of every month, and it doesn't matter if that day happens to be a holiday ... the meeting must go on! We did bring pastries and sparkling wine and water for our members to make it a little festive. Our guest speaker was from the Upstate-Downstate Housing Alliance. If you live anywhere in New York state and are concerned about affordable housing, check out the organization here. If you live elsewhere and want to dip your toe into the world of activism, read about Indivisible and look for a local chapter here. I ran home after the meeting to put on something red for date night, so at least I did better than the ACLU "I know my rights" t-shirt and Uggs I wore to the meeting.

What Wendy Wore Jacket: H&M (2010, gifted to me by Sheila of Ephemera in 2018) T-shirt: Something so old it should probably be thrown out Jeans: Madewell (2016) Shoes: Prada (2012, previously seen here)

If you missed last year's video about my love for puffy and ruffled jackets, you can check it out now. The Valentine's Day jacket has a starring role.
I have extra affection for this puffy and ruffled jacket because it was a thoughtful gift from my blogging friend Sheila. And I have extra, EXTRA affection for it because I think it makes me look like Gossamer, the monster in the Bugs Bunny cartoons.

So what do you think? Who wore it best? Me or Gossamer?
