I hope you had a fantastic New Year's Eve! I had a wonderful dinner at Balthazar with MrB; my stepson, William; my designing friend Stacy; and talented journalist siblings Jesse and Abby.
My New Year's outfit was slow fashion with a twist. Usually, when I refer to "slow fashion," I'm talking about something that I've owned for a long time and worn repeatedly, like the gold dress I got in 2004.

But every so often, I buy something new and am very slow to wear it. I might wait years! I just like to save the first wear of something for the perfect occasion. And that's what happened last night: I wore a dress I bought at the (now closed) Patricia Field boutique in 2015.
What Wendy Wore
Dress: Gracia from Patricia Field (2015)
Unseen shoes: Prada (2010)
I had considered wearing this dress for several other events, but each time there was something else I preferred. I knew I'd get to it eventually. In fact, I'd had it in the back of my mind for this New Year's celebration for a couple of months.

Once I decided last night was the dress's big moment, it was time for the ceremonial cutting-off of the price tag. That's another thing I like to do -- leave the tags on until I wear the clothes, even though I have no intention of returning anything. This dress was a pretty thrifty purchase, don't you agree?

That price doesn't compare to my getting a vintage couture gown on eBay for $60, but I'm still pleased by it. Belated thanks to my dear friend Julie Matos for picking out this dress for me during one of our final Patricia Field visits. I do miss that store.
